Who we are

At the Wellsburg Art Studio we are dedicated to fostering creativity and artistic expression through a variety of art classes designed for all ages. Our primary focus is on ceramics, where we provide engaging instruction in techniques such as wheel-throwing, hand-building, and glazing.

Whether you are a novice eager to explore or an experienced artist looking to refine your skills, our studio offers a welcoming environment for everyone. In addition to our regular classes, we host themed workshops and special community events.

Our commitment is to inspire, educate, and celebrate the vibrant community in Wellsburg and beyond, ensuring that everyone has the chance to explore their creative potential.

What this place is

A working studio,
not a showroom.

Beginners are the point

Both Intro courses say in so many words that they need little to no experience, and the children's courses are an introduction to clay and the pottery-making process.

Courses that build

For our inaugural season we will start with the basics in ceramics and build as we go. One price covers the whole course, however many sessions it runs.

Painted, glazed and fired here

Firing is part of the course, not an extra. You make it, it is fired, you glaze it, it is fired again, and then you come and collect it.

It is a room in Wellsburg

Not a chain, not a franchise, not a pop-up. A permanent space on North Adams Street in a town of seven hundred people.

What we teach

Ceramics firstand plenty besides.

Wheel-throwing, hand-building and glazing are the core of it, and they are what is running today. Painting, drawing and mixed media are on the studio's own list of disciplines.

A variety of art disciplines

Four ways to
make something.

Ceramics is where the studio starts and where the kiln is. It is not where it stops.
